Once lockdown restrictions began to ease and allow for sporting activities to resume in 2021, a few of our friendship group got together for weekly kickabouts in the park.
However, what began as a casual activity quickly grew into a collective effort to support mental and physical well-being through football. Encouraged by the benefits, our group formally established a Sunday League team, which has since evolved into a community-focused club with two open-aged men’s teams and an U14 boys’ team.
We are very proud to be able to provide organised football twice a week to our members and thoroughly believe in the physical, mental and societal benefits gained from this. Our club’s growth reflects the increasing demand for local grassroots footballing opportunities, and we plan to keep developing as a club for many years to come.
First Team
Our First Team started in Division 2 (3rd tier) of the Manchester Amateur Sunday Football League for the 2021/22 season. Since then, the team has gained two promotions and claimed the team’s highest ever finish, finishing 4th in the Mikey Williams Premier Division. The lads also reached their first cup final in the 2023/24 JA Kennedy Cup.
Reserve Team
The Reserve Team was established at the start of the 2024/25 season and have acquitted themselves well in Division 1 against some established sides. With some strong performances down the home stretch, the ‘Ressies’ can be proud of how far they’ve come in such a short space of time.
U14 Team
At the beginning of the 2024/25 season, we took over an Under 13 team whose former club had folded. Known as our ‘Cubs’ the boys have played some brilliant football in Division 7 of the East Manchester Junior Football League and will look to build on the togetherness and bonds forged during a season which looked like it wouldn’t happen.
