OTA Firsts opened up their pre-season with a solid 1-1 draw against a good Dom Doyle Celtic team.

With several key players missing, The Otters took a while to get going – Case in point – some rusty play from R. Smith lead to a high boot which connected with the onrushing attacker’s head. The result was a serious head injury.

The opponents took a well-deserved lead thereafter, as they enjoyed the majority of possession.

OTA began to find their feet and gradually gained a foothold in the game. A great ball in from Munhenga from the left, was finished off by last season’s top scorer, C. Simpson.

1-1 was probably a fair result in the end – The lands now on the board in 2025’s RVL Shield.
